Shelling

Most NURB/poly-based CAD tools have functions for shelling. In the NURBS world this is also complicated and sometimes impossible due to geometry features

We need good fillet tool for LSVG, and again we need to invent them ourselves because we are going into unknown territory

In genLib we have two types of shelling operations

  • outerShell() - rounding off outer edges
  • innerShell() - rounding off inner edges

Properties:

  • Same as for fillet, works very well and can handle complex geometries that are difficult or impossible with NURBS/poly
  • Current version runs on the whole vG
  • The shell radius may vary over vG
