Making of a CNC part
To do
- Make a simple CAD part in F360
- Set up and design milling paths in F360 "Manufacture" - one side is enough
- Make a "Manufacture" simulation with the stock visible
Submission of work - upload page.
Submission requirements
- A JPG picture of the CAD part or a JPG photo of the physical part (optional, if the part was made)
- An animated GIF of a stock simulation of one or several milling paths in F360 "Manufacture" (one side is enough).
Screen to gif can be used,
EZgif can be used for GIF optimization
Available tools: (can be found in Tool-library, Samples, Metric Aluminum)
- Flat: 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 6mm
- Ball: 2mm, 3mm, 6mm
- Graveringsvertøy (chamfer mill) 30°
Ideas:
- A robot part - for example a link
- A part of your main project
- A "te-lys holder" with your name on
- An "øllbrike" with your name on
- A "dørskilt"
- . . .
Materials:
- Aluminum
- Brass
- Plastic
- Acetal - medium to high strength
- PVC - medium to low strength (non-expensive)
- PEEK - very high strength and temperature resistant (expensive)
- Laminated plastic - medium strength - wood like appearance
- Hardwood - bring your own stock (must be relatively small, we don't want to much dust)
- Steel, copper, titanium - only small parts can be made, you may have to bring your own stock (can be bought on Ebay)
Tips:
- It may take a very long time to manufacture a complex part where it is needed to mill from many sides
- The easiest solution is a part with a flat backside where we only need to mill from the top side
- Remember that your part can be combined with casted silicone and other items
